NHL Hockey Legend Sadly Passes Away

In a sad development for the hockey community, former NHL forward Henry Boucha has passed away at 72.

Boucha's NHL career began when he was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 1971. He went on to play for the Red Wings, Minnesota North Stars, Kansas City Scouts, and Colorado Rockies before retiring in 1977.

In a significant incident during a game in 1975, Boucha was attacked by Boston Bruins forward Dave Forbes, resulting in a cracked bone around his eye and blurred vision that had a lasting impact on his career.




Boucha accumulated 102 points (53 goals, 49 assists) and 157 penalty minutes over 247 games in the NHL.

He was also the second-cousin of current NHL forward and Stanley Cup Champion T.J. Oshie.
